By becoming a Fellow, you demonstrate a higher level of commitment to and support for its mission:<\/p>\n
The British Interplanetary Society promotes the exploration and use of space for the benefit of humanity, by connecting people to create, educate and inspire, and advance knowledge in all aspects of astronautics. <\/strong><\/p>\n If you believe in, or support, these important objectives, through your career or your other interests, whether within the Society or elsewhere, then we would urge you to apply for Fellowship.<\/p>\n The Society needs a strong Fellowship, to support its activities, and to influence and guide its future direction in a way that reflects the interests and concerns of the space community. As owners of the Society, Fellows have full voting rights at all General Meetings, are entitled to put \u201cFBIS\u201d after their names and are eligible to be elected to Council after three years.<\/p>\n The Society\u2019s requirements for Fellowship follow the model of a \u201cLearned Society\u201d which is not supporting a particular profession.\u00a0 You must have been in continuous Membership of the Society for three years.\u00a0 There are two routes to Fellowship, either:<\/p>\n To apply, please complete the form below.\u00a0 Your application will then be considered by the Fellowship and Awards Committee.\u00a0 You would normally expect to hear back within two months.\u00a0 If successful, you will be notified and invited to take up Fellowship.\u00a0 If you are not successful, we will give you an indication of why, although we regret that we cannot provide detailed, personalised feedback.<\/p>\n\n
