JSEA, the Japan Space Elevator Association, has conducted a Space Elevator challenge in Japan since 2009 to provide an actual chance for researchers, engineers and young people to study and enhance their understanding of a Space Elevator related systems. Teams from abroad are also welcomed. Also it offers good chances to spread the basic concepts of the Space Elevator to a larger audience.
