(1991),\u00a0<em>JBIS<\/em>, 44, pp.573-578<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Refcode:\u00a0<\/strong>1991.44.573<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A microwave free-electron laser (FEL) is regarded as a possible candidate for high power microwave sources in the frequency region 10-100 GHz. In fact, the collaboration of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBL) has demonstrated a successful single-stage experiment [1] of 35 GHz and 1 GW. Recently LLNL [2] also reported the preliminary success of FEL experiments where a small input signal of 140 GHz was amplified to 300 MW by a driving beam of about 1 kA injected from the induction linac (ETA II).
