(1981),\u00a0<em>JBIS<\/em>, 34, pp.381-391<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Refcode:\u00a0<\/strong>1981.34.381<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IN THE PROJECT DAEDALUS starship study the provision of on-board repair facilities, including independently-mobile robot repair vehicles (known as &#8220;wardens&#8221;), repair bays, and spares and materials, was identified as being essential for mission success. Using present-day reliability and maintainability values from aircraft technology, their likely future improvement factors, and the constraints of the Daedalus mission, a parametric analysis was done.
