Under such conditions, an autonomous system may remain functionally effective after the conditions justifying continued action have begun to fail. This paper compares a simplified performance-only continuation policy with an assurance-bounded policy. The comparison uses a supervisory-strain model in which delay and hazard drift increase the burden of continued action while decision fidelity reduces it. Because the policies use different decision variables, divergence is expected by construction. The contribution is to show where, how much, and in which mission contexts that divergence appears. Across representative contexts, the assurance-bounded policy constrains or defers in cases where the performance-only policy still continues. The study also includes a preliminary proxy-based anchoring step using 60 public Perseverance cases to support limited threshold adjustment. The results support a bounded-admissibility view of delayed lunar autonomy: continued performance should not alone define acceptable continuation.

Keywords: Lunar Surface Operations, Supervisory Autonomy, Communication Delay, Admissibility, Mission Assurance

[3911

post-59799","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-2026-papers","first","instock","downloadable","virtual","purchasable","product-type-simple","czr-hentry
["GET
