Abstract:

In this paper we study interstellar travel through wormholes that have a hyperboloidal, cylindrical, ellipsoidal, spherical or conical shape, i.e. a quadric shape. The Morris-Thorne solution (1988) of the Einstein equations is the mathematical framework in which these wormholes are described . We then show that there exist a one-to-one correspondence between each of the above five types of quadric wormholes and the kind of matter threading them.
