Abstract:

A “greenhouse effect” should result from the build-up in the Earth’s atmosphere of molecular pollution, specifically C02, in such a way that the infrared re-radiation cannot compensate for the solar radiative input and global warming results. Hansen et al [1] have noted evidence of increasing global temperatures consistent with this hypothesis. Whether or not present scientific observational material can demonstrate that the greenhouse effect actually is causing global warming now, there is little doubt of the reality of the mechanism.
