Abstract:
There has been an upsurge in interest in terraforming since the late 1980s, concentrating, in particular, on the possibility of bringing life to Mars. Apart from academic papers on the feasibility of terraforming Mars [1-3]. papers have considered the motivation behind such an undertaking [3] and the ethics of modifying the Martian environment [ 4,5). Popular accounts have varied between articles written by those actively involved in terraforming studies [6-10] and the less restrained treatment of science journalism [11, 12].
