Of all years in the Soviet space programme the last four in the 1960’s decade are the most nebulous and secrecy-shrouded. During this time there were three oft-repeated rumours of launch failures involving cosmonauts. Part 1 looks at the evidence for a possible event in the Spring of 1966.
