Abstract:

At 23.16 G.M.T. on 30 October 1990 the first of four Inmarsat 2 maritime communications satellites was launched from Cape Canaveral aboard a Delta II rocket. Following a nominal transfer and drift orbit it was formally handed over to the Inmarsat ground control system on 9 November 1990.
