Abstract:

One of the major problems in control of advanced technology is that technology is constantly changing. It is also extremely hard for a human being to integrate the large number of inputs from a typical control console, whether it be in an aircraft cockpit or a ground based spacecraft control terminal. Although recent advances in design through Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Manufacture (CAM) enable one to manufacture items “without using paper”, it is still possible to make mistakes because of the inability to fully visualise the finished product.
