Abstract:

Electricity supply for industrial countries by Solar Power Satellites around the end of the century has become a serious possibility according to several technological feasibility studies performed in the USA. Presently there is a 3-year “Concept Evaluation” programme under way to end in mid-1980 which is managed and sponsored by NASA and the US Department of Energy (DOE).
