Abstract:
This chart was prepared by Sergey Voevodin in the early part of 1993 from information made available from the Cosmonaut Trialling Centre, Novosti kosmonautica and various other sources. It shows the cosmonauts who are active and which training cycle they are currently assigned in the forthcoming schedule. Only 3 crews are in training, formally, at any one time. Crews are usually made up of an Air Force Commander, an engineer from the NPO ‘Energiya’ and the 3rd seat usually reserved for International cosmonauts. Io the case of the November 1993 mission (TM 18) it is reserved for a doctor from the Institute of Medical Biological Problems. The Eoergiyacivilian is added to the AF man from the pools. As each mission flies the crews move up one slot.
