Abstract:
ESA requires facilities to receive data from high data rate and/or multi-source missions such as Earth observation satellites, scientific satellites, and manned platforms. Data may be transmitted via data relay satellites or directly from the relevant spacecraft. As the sensor technology develops, instrument data rates increase and more sensors are accommodated on a single platform. This results in an increasing burden on the recording and archiving facilities and also on processing.
