Abstract:
The Envisat mission is the third in the series of Earth observation missions, following on from ERS-1 and ERS-2, and is planned to be launched in July 1999. Its purpose is to gather global data so as to make a significant contribution to environmental studies in the areas of atmospheric chemistry, ocean/ice studies and monitoring the Earth’s climate.
