Abstract:

On September 11, 1994. Friedrich Schmiedl, the well known Austrian mail rocket pioneer, died at Graz, Austria, at the age of 92. Born at Schwertberg, Upper Austria, on June 14, 1902, the son of the director of a paper factory, he attended a technical high school and completed studies, majoring in chemical engineering, at the Institute of’ Technology in Graz as well as at the University of Graz.
