Abstract:

For innovative space exploration missions, usual requirements are levied on the structural components of the spacecraft. The preferred solution, in many cases, is the utilisation of unusual materials. Spacecraft constructed from cryogenic hydrogen (or deuterium or tritium) ice can use the same material for structure, shielding, coolant and fuel.
