Abstract:

The International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation (INTELSAT) which currently compromises of 119 member countries has procured and launched 44 satellites to date. Not all of these became operational due to 9 launch failures. To date a number of generations of INTELSAT satellites have been specified, developed and constructed to meet INTELSAT’s growing traffic requirements. The past generations are known as INTELSAT I, II, III, IV, IVA, V, VM, VA and VA (IBS).
