Abstract:
The first detailed, in depth, comprehensive, technical design of a lunar base was completed by the United Stales Army in June 1959 called Project Horizon. It was 4 volumes, 719 pages and classified Secret upon publication. Prior to Project Horizon, most of the studies that looked at lunar bases only considered one aspect of living on the Moon in detail.
