The principles of soil mechanics are vital to the understanding of many complex problems in terrestrial construction. There needs to be an awareness or the challenges faced in the lunar environment as work is clone with lunar materials and the principles of soil mechanics are applied to the tasks or building the infrastructure required for industrialization of the Moon.
