Abstract:
Microsystems Technology (MST) is based upon techniques established by the semiconductor industry to manufacture the modern integrated circuit. The integrated circuit, particularly in the form of the “silicon chip”, has formed the basis of entire modern industries such as computers, telecommunications, video games. It is believed that the development of application specific integrated microsystems may well create a similar industry by the early part of the 21st century.
