Abstract:

Nanotechnology is defined as the projected ability to use positional control of chemical reactions to build complex materials and devices, including molecular machinery, resulting in precise control of the structure or matter at the molecular level. Such materials and devices have been termed eutactic. Nanotechnology brings together results from many fields of science and engineering. The goals described are sometimes termed molecular nanotechnology to distinguish them from generic nanoscale technologies.
