Abstract:
The development of major architectures such as Dr. Edwards’ and the IAA or Obayashi approaches ensures that the community addressed the complexity, needs, and proposed solutions to inherent problems. However, there is so much more to be accomplished during a mega-project development. As there is very little monetary support for the concept of space elevators at this time, progress is primarily being made by volunteers who believe in the concept of building a permanent infrastructure for low-cost access to space. This article will lay out some of those continuous efforts around the globe to further the advancement of this remarkable transportation infrastructure.
