Abstract:

The literature on terrestrial medicine is expanding at an exponential rate. Yet, during the past 20 years, the really significant advances are noticeable by their rarity. The so-called ‘Space Medicine’ deals with, not the pathological, but the response of perfectly fit people to rather bizarre environmental conditions. It, too, is effectively at a standstill apart from the current Russian experience.
