Abstract:

The mechanism of propulsion system can be classified into two kinds, i.e. the momentum thrust (reaction thrust) and the pressure thrust. The momentum thrust based on momentum conservation law is employed at present as the propulsion system. The maximum velocity of the above stated propulsion system, such as the chemical rocket, plasma rocket, nuclear rocket and the like is limited by the product of the gas effective exhaust velocity and the natural logarithm of mass ratio.
