Abstract:

Taken at its literal meaning, a Sub-Critical Cosmic Impact on the Earth is a fairly common affair as is evident from the frequent appearance of streaks of light in the night sky, commonly called shooting stars, but which should more correctly be termed meteors. Records of sightings of such events have been available for some considerable time, though the correct interpretation of this evidence is somewhat more recent.
