Abstract:

Three classes of proposals arose for the continuing development of what, as it proceeded, turned out to be a very successful project. These fall under three heads:

(1) Improvement of performance of Black Knight as a re-entry test vehicle.

(2) The use of the vehicle, suitably modified, as part of a launching vehicle system.

(3) By extension of performance to become a satellite launcher in its own right.
