Abstract:
THIS IS THE TIME for deciding to proceed with a vigorous programme dedicated to space technology. The path to the next 50 years is surely a technology path, and it begins with steps in known directions. Once we start a long this path we will see technology break throughs which cannot be predicted. Significant break throughs in key disciplines such as propulsion efficiencies, antenna size or power capability will trigger tremendous acceleration to space futures which may be well beyond anything even our futurists have conceived. All it takes to begin the journey along this exciting path is to commit the necessary time and resources to technology the path to the next 50 years.
