Abstract:
Outline designs of starships have appeared in the pages of technical journals for over twenty years. It is thus possible that, in the next few centuries, the human race may make its first attempt to colonise planets around otl1er stars. However, most research into methods of interstellar travel bas concentrated mainly on the technical details of advanced propulsion systems or the demographics of mass human migration.
