Abstract:

Anite Systems are presently supporting of the German Space Operations Centre (GSOC) of the German Aerospace Research Authority (DLR) with the detailed definition of the Columbus Orbiting Facility – Control Center (COF-CC). The COF is one of the main ESA elements currently baselined as part of the International Space Station (ISS). The other main element is the Automated Transfer Vehicle, which is to be controlled from the French Space Agency (CNES) in Toulouse. A detailed study is being performed this year to confirm that the decentralised control of the these elements is programmatically and technically similar to a centralised solution, which would then be located at the European Space Operations centre in Darmstadt, Germany.
