Abstract:
NASA is studying a coordinated programme called Mission to Planet Earth to study and understand global change. The goals are to understand the Earth as a system, and to determine those processes that contribute to our environmental balance, as well as those that may result in change. The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japanese Space Development Agency (NASDA) have each decided to participate in the EOS program by supplying polar platforms and instruments. These plans are an integral part of the overall EOS mission.
