The History of Mir 1986-2000

£2.50

Edited by Rex Hall

When Mir was launched in 1986, Soviet space watchers could not have imagined the 15 years on it would still be operational, having been occupied by 29 Soviet and Russian expedition crews. It played host to the first steps of real international co-operation in the exploration of space between the USA and USSR/Russia with the visits of a number of Space Shuttle missions and the long duration flights of 7 American Astronauts.

It has set so many records that its place in the history of Space exploration is now assured.

This book produced by the BIS is a history of Mir. It reflects all aspects of its development, operation, research, missions and achievements.
