Abstract:

RADARSAT is the Canadian Space Agency’s first Earth observation satellite, scheduled for launch in the Summer of 1995. It will be used for monitoring land resource usage, ice detection and to aid the prediction of natural disasters. The primary focus of the satellite data is all Canadian environs but the high resolution images will rind customers worldwide. During normal operations, the satellite will be controlled from a Mission Control Facility (M CF) at St. Hubert. Quebec, using NASA’s Deep Space Network of ground stations; together with prime and co-prime tracking, telemetry and commanding stations at St Hubert and Saskatoon, Saskatuwan, respectively.
