Abstract:

In recent years the use of software in satellites has become more important in the control of systems and payloads. This software allows increased autonomy for unmanned satellites and reduces the amount of time and effort involved in operational and fault correction tasks from the crew in manned vehicles. However, it adds a further dimension to the complexity, already considerable, of managing and developing space systems.
