Abstract:

Like other large ion thrusters, the UK-25 is aimed at meeting some of the requirements of future spacecraft for advanced propulsion systems. Such propulsion systems will become increasingly necessary to replace conventional chemical systems with the move towards larger spacecraft with longer lifetimes, performing missions with higher velocity increments, and greater propulsion needs.
