Where is the Space for People?

Abstract:
What are the mechanisms for the development of space activities today? There seems to be very little pushing the sector to outperform itself but rather it has become content with tuning existing technologies to ever better performance. The paper argues that there is a the seed for a new push in space activities in the public interest that hold the promise of previously unimagined developments. The seed can be nursed by stimulating interest and making space activities accessible to the public. The growing and developing needs of the public can be met by improving capabilities where the push for space can be reinforced even further by making space a desirable place to be, convenient, accessible and comfortable. Space needs to be brought to mankind if mankind is to be brought to space.
