A new crewed Mars mission architecture is presented uniting the simplicity of the original Mars Direct plan with the low-risk, high contingency nature of later plans, specifically the Mars Society Mission. The problems associated with these plans are presented and addressed within the framework of Mars Flexi-Direct.
