Abstract:
A brief review of exoplanet detection techniques is given, in particular the “transit” technique employed by the Kepler mission. The recent discovery of planet Kepler-22b is described, together with the applicability of this discovery to Project Icarus. This is a submission of the Project Icarus study group.
